This project aims to capture the views of Kashmiris across Luton. There is a large Kashmiri community in Luton who feel their identity /contribution have not been acknowledged since their arrival to the UK. Alot of the elderly community have been lost during the pandemic. it would be great to capture stories of those we have still amongst us.
The project will recruit and train a pool of volunteers to research and interview members of the Kashmiri community. arrange live radio shows, run workshops on Kashmiri food/cuisine, poetry/music, clothing rugs and showcase the findings. This project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Project.
